Our Values
-
At RTC Counseling, community means more than working one-on-one with clients—it means contributing to the greater good.
Our therapists give back through volunteer work, pro bono services for trainees, and sharing knowledge with others in the field. We often write about the profession, or present case material in workshops or conferences. We believe in lifting up the profession as a whole, because better therapists mean better care for everyone. We also go beyond licensing requirements to deepen our training—so the support we offer you is informed, thoughtful, and continually evolving.
-
We welcome people of all identities and lived experiences. Our practice is open to the full spectrum of LGBTQIA+ and multicultural communities, and we take care to recognize and respect the differences that may exist between you and your therapist—whether in race, culture, beliefs, or identity. Therapy is a space where your whole self should be safe, seen, and supported—and that’s what we work to create with each client.
-
We believe therapy should never feel mysterious.
From the start, we’ll explain how psychodynamic therapy works, how it might support your growth, and where its limits may lie. Together, we’ll clarify what to expect—both in the therapy room and throughout the course of treatment. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll be honest and help connect you with someone who is. And when it comes to the cost of treatment, we keep things simple and open—no surprises, just clarity.
Why Therapy Matters
When life feels stuck, it’s often because the ways we’ve learned to cope—though once necessary—are no longer serving us. These patterns can keep us feeling trapped in cycles of frustration, sadness, or disconnection.
At Road to Change Counseling, we use Psychodynamic therapy to help you uncover the deeper roots of your emotional experiences and behavioral patterns. Rather than just focusing on symptom relief, we work together to understand the unconscious forces shaped by your past, playing out in your present day struggles. As you gain insight into these inner dynamics, you’ll develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and emotional resilience.
Our goal is to help you live more fully, with a stronger sense of clarity, freedom, and capacity to handle life’s transitions.
